Sixth Annual Cincinnati Coffee Festival Returns to Music Hall

October 21-22

Tickets to go on sale this summer; proceeds benefit Cincinnati non-profit Ohio River Foundation

CINCINNATI (May 5, 2023) – The Cincinnati Coffee Festival is returning to the beautiful ballroom at Cincinnati Music Hall this fall. The popular annual festival is set to take place Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22. The Cincinnati Coffee Festival team is also pleased to announce their 2023 poster winner Amy Panfalone.

Thousands turn out each year to experience popular coffee roasters, tea providers, bakers, pastry shops, chocolatiers, and live music at what has become the Midwest’s premier coffee event. Cincinnati Coffee Festival is a major fundraiser for Ohio River Foundation (ORF), a Cincinnati-based non-profit with successful programs dedicated to protecting and improving the water quality and ecology of the Ohio River and its watershed.

The Ohio River Watershed stretches across 200,000 square miles, 14 states, and is home to more than 25 million people. ORF is the only regional conservation organization working to protect and improve the ecology of the Ohio River and its rivers and streams. Coffee has a natural connection to that mission. Without great water, you can’t have great coffee.

The Cincinnati Coffee Festival is open to the public and will have a large variety of local and regional coffee roasters in attendance such as local favorites Seven Hills Coffee, Deeper Roots Coffee, Viva Coffee Roasters, and Carabello as well as two-time People’s Choice Award winner FigBrew.

Features will include the always-popular Latte Art Throwdown, and Latte Art in Action, where attendees can watch a master barista create latte art and learn how to pour their own. Demonstrations and presentations from industry experts, a “cupping” station where guests can learn to sample coffee like a pro, and live music will also again be featured.

Additional event details will be announced over the coming months. Tickets will go on sale in the summer.

Vendor applications are still available at https://cincinnaticoffeefestival.com/vendors/.

Cincinnati Coffee Festival is now accepting sponsors for the 2023 event, and would like to thank current sponsors World Centric, Viva Coffee Roasters, Deeper Roots Coffee, Seven Hills Coffee Roasters, Horan Wealth Management, and First Financial Bank for their support. Cincinnati Coffee Festival returns Oct. 11-13 in new, larger venue

CINCINNATI, OHIO (January 21, 2019) – Exciting changes are underway for the third annual Cincinnati Coffee Festival! The largest coffee festival in the Midwest is moving to a new, larger home in the Grand Ballroom of the Duke Energy Convention Center, 525 Elm St. in Downtown Cincinnati. It’s set to take place Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13.

“We put on fun, successful events in Music Hall in 2017 and 2018,” said Rich Cogen, executive director of Ohio River Foundation (ORF), which produces the event. “But after hosting more than 5,000 attendees last year, we realized we needed more room to be able to grow. We’re looking forward to an even bigger and better event at Duke Energy Convention Center this year!”

Cincinnati Coffee Festival will once again kick off with a trade day on Friday for coffee shop owners, baristas and people interested in getting into the coffee business. Saturday and Sunday will be open to the public, with an even larger variety of local and regional coffee roasters, coffee and tea shops, bakers, pastry shops and chocolatiers on hand to sample their wares. Popular activities such as the “Latte Art Throwdown,” where baristas vie for the title of top latte artist, and Latte in Action, where attendees can try their hand at creating latte art, will be back this year. Other demonstrations, a live music schedule and additional event details will be announced at a later date.

Vendor applications will be available in February at CincinnatiCoffeeFestival.com. Tickets will go on sale in August.

Cincinnati Coffee Festival is a major fundraiser for Ohio River Foundation, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit with successful programs dedicated to protecting and improving the water quality and ecology of the Ohio River and its watershed. Coffee has a natural connection to that mission.

Tickets now on sale for Cincinnati Coffee Festival, Nov. 9, 10 & 11

CINCINNATI, OHIO (Sept. 17, 2018) – Attention local coffee lovers: Tickets are now on sale for the second annual Cincinnati Coffee Festival. After a hugely successful first year in 2017, Cincinnati Coffee Festival will return to Cincinnati Music Hall, 1241 Elm St. in Over-the-Rhine, from Nov. 9 through Nov. 11, 2018.

“With more than 4,000 attendees, the inaugural Cincinnati Coffee Festival received rave reviews and exceeded our expectations,” said Rich Cogen, executive director of Ohio River Foundation (ORF), which produces the event. “This year promises to be even better.”

Among the improvements this year will be an extra day, Friday, specifically for coffee shop owners, baristas and people interested in getting into the coffee business. Also, this year’s event will feature approximately 60 vendors – up from 46 last year — with appeal to coffee lovers. Local and regional coffee roasters, coffee and tea shops, bakers, pastry shops and chocolatiers will all be sampling their wares. After they’ve sampled their way through the event hall, attendees can then buy their favorites to take home. Coffee-related demonstrations and live music by bands including Anna & The Deeper Well and Charlie Millikin will add to the fun.

A highlight from last year’s festival, the “Latte Art Throwdown,” will be back again on Saturday, Nov. 10. The competition lets baristas vie, bracket-style, for the title of “Supreme Latte Artist of Greater Cincinnati.”

Other demonstrations will include tea and coffee “101” sessions; a fundamentals of flavor workshop; and a sampling that showcases the differences between coffee regions and processing methods.

Event hours are 1-6 p.m. Friday (trade only); 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (early admission 9 a.m.) Saturday; and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (10 a.m. early admission) Sunday.

Tickets are now on sale at CincinnatiCoffeeFestival.com. General admission, which includes a gift bag (while supplies last), is $12.50 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP tickets, which include a gift bag, early admission and “fast track” entry, are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. VIP Gold tickets, which include all the benefits of VIP tickets, plus a specialty coffee mug and admission for the entire weekend, are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. VIP Gold tickets are limited, so coffee lovers who want all of the “perks” should buy their tickets today!

Just what does Ohio River Foundation have to do with coffee, by the way? That’s easy.

“You can’t have great coffee without great water,” Cogen said. “This festival gets people thinking about that connection.”

The festival also raises funds to support ORF’s successful programs aimed at protecting and improving water quality in the Ohio River watershed.
